Family Adventure Vacations in Croatia and the Balkans

Heart stoppingly beautiful, Croatia is the pearl of the Adriatic… kayak around the ancient city walls of Dubrovnik…hike the white mountaintops of Velebit National Park…explore the stunning islands of Hvar, Brac and Korcula… swim in crystalline waters…sail to uninhabited islands… bike the glorious Dalmatian Coast.

But there is so much more to the Balkans than Croatia!

Slovenia: Within this tiny country you’ll find magnificently varied scenery and incredible architecture. Hike into the Julien Alps, go white water rafting, explore the world heritage Skokjan caves or simply relax at fairy tale Lake Bled. Picture perfect towns and villages with beautiful churches and medieval castles are everywhere and then there’s Ljubljana, the capital city – surely one of the world’s most enjoyable cities with more delicious ice cream than you can find anywhere!

Montenegro: One of Europe’s youngest nations astounds the senses with its dramatic coastline, mountains that seem to go on forever, fairy tale forests and lakes. Kayak in the Boka Bay, hike and bike in Durmitor National Park, or go rafting in the Tara Canyon. And you must walk the old city walls of Kotor- a truly unspoiled Adriatic town and, understandably, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Bosnia: A totally unique destination, one of the most captivating in Europe today. Despite a turbulent history, this country abounds with fascinating culture, cuisine and outdoor excitement. Walk through the old market streets of two of the world’s greatest cities, Mostar and Sarajevo, or spend a day in a traditional mountain village hiking and cooking and learning about a way of life untouched for centuries.

And if you’re looking for the truly unexplored and exotic, we include excursions to Albania, Bulgaria and Macedonia as well!

Sarah and Ella have just returned from the Balkans and here’s Ella’s video mash up of the trip!
