Finally the big day – our plane to Singapore via Korea departed at 2pm. Actually, our kids are fantastic on all forms of long distance travel – Singapore Airlines has an especially good in flight entertainment system and so the kids were kept busy for hours.
We stopped in Seoul for an hour and by the time we arrived in Singapore it was close to midnight. The flight to Mumbai was leaving the next morning so we checked into the transit hotel and tried to get some sleep. The kids slept well, the parents less so. We were up bright and early for our 7.35 am flight to Mumbai. We spent only six hours in the hotel but I would suggest to anyone who has the same opportunity to do so. Breaking up a flight is always a good idea. It lets the kids recharge their batteries and breaks the monotony.
The flight to Mumbai was uneventful and we landed at about 10.30 am. Gal had been terribly excited to see India for the first time but as the aircraft descended she grew more and more apprehensive – clearly Mumbai’s slums encroach upon the airport. They didn’t look so much fun.
PS I’m now planning great family trips to India myself. If you’d like more info on how I can plan a great trip for you, visit here for more info!
